DESCRIPTION:The family is a place where we come to know God the Father’s love. However\, our modern culture has warped our view of fatherhood and family. The purpose of this retreat is to renew the family as a place to encounter God’s fatherly love. If your family has any problems\, then this retreat is for you! A strong relationship with God the Father is the sure foundation through which we live our roles in our own human families: husband\, wife\, father\, mother\, brother\, sister\, son\, or daughter.  All spiritual healing for any member of the family requires that we heal our relationship with God the Father.\n\n\n\n \n  \n\n\nRetreat Talks and Schedule\n  \n\nThe Trinity and the Family (Friday\, 7PM)\nFather (forehead)\, Son (chest)\, and Holy Spirit (left shoulder – right shoulder). \nIf you’ve spent time around the Catholic Church\, you’ve heard these words time and again. The Sign of the Cross\nexpresses the most central doctrine of our faith: the Trinity. There is only one God\, but within the one God\, there\nare three Persons: the Father\, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is enormously important — but just like the\nSign of the Cross\, we rarely take time to think about it. Do you know what the Trinity means for your life and for\nyour family? This talk will give you an answer to that question. \n\n\nThe Broken Image (10AM\, Saturday)\nThere is one domain of human life which is intended\, perhaps more than any other\, to give us a taste of the Trinity:\nthe family. Unfortunately\, the collective effects of the industrial\, sexual\, and digital revolutions have obscured\nour image of the family. What are the fundamental threats facing the family today? How do we overcome those threats?\nThis talk will dissect the problems and give concrete solutions. \n*CONFESSION SATURDAY 8AM – 12:30PM. MULTIPLE PRIESTS AVAILABLE. ALL PARTICIPANTS ENCOURAGED TO RECEIVE CONFESSION* \n\n\nReclaiming the Image (11:30AM\, Saturday)\nContrary to what our culture tells us\, masculinity and femininity are sacred things; that’s why Satan attacks them.\nThese talks are about reclaiming the sacred nature of what it means to be a man or woman. What is the biblical image\nof masculinity? What is the biblical image of femininity? How do we reclaim that image in our lives? Content\nsuitable for adults (not children) and appropriate for all fathers/mothers and potential future fathers/mothers. \n\nMen’s Talk (Main Church): Biblical themes and reflection on fatherhood and\nmasculinity.\nWomen’s Talk (Parish Hall): Biblical themes and reflection on sacred motherhood and femininity.\n\n\n\nSunday Masses\nAll Sunday liturgies will be celebrated by Father James Brent\, OP. Homilies will dive into the primary themes of the\nretreat: God’s fatherly love and the beauty of the family. \n\n\nThe Father’s Blessing (7PM\, Sunday)\nAll are invited to attend the final retreat convocation and blessing on Sunday evening.
